Dumbbell triceps extension
Triceps.

How to do it
- Standing or seated, hold one dumbbell with both hands and raise it overhead with your arms straight.
- With your elbows pointing forward and close to your head, lower the dumbbell behind your neck.
- Go down until you feel the triceps stretch, without moving your elbows.
- Straighten your arms back up to the top.
Cues
- Only the forearms move; elbows stay still.
- Abs firm, ribs down.
- Lower slowly, raise without jerking.
Common mistakes
- Flaring the elbows out to the sides.
- Arching the lower back.
- Using too much weight and cutting the range short.
If your elbow or shoulder bothers you, do it lying on the floor or on a bench, lowering the dumbbell towards your forehead.
