How to do it

  1. Set the pulley high with a bar or rope. Grab it with your palms facing down.
  2. Standing, torso leaning slightly forward and elbows tucked into your sides.
  3. Push down until your arms are fully straight.
  4. Return under control until your forearms are a little above horizontal.

Cues

  • Your elbows don't move: they're a hinge.
  • Squeeze your triceps at the bottom for 1 s.
  • With a rope, spread your hands apart at the end.

Common mistakes

  • Letting your elbows leave your sides.
  • Leaning your body over the weight.
  • Raising your hands too high (the elbows move).
